1. Open Access

The Asian Journal of Engineering and Applied Technology (AJEAT) follows a Gold Open Access model. The final published Version of Record is made immediately and permanently available on the journal website without subscription, registration, or pay-per-view barriers.

Published articles may be accessed, read, downloaded, copied, and shared free of charge in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).

2. Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) Open Access Guidelines

The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) applies transparent Open Access publishing practices concerning copyright, licensing, peer review, Article Processing Charges, and access to published content. Copyright arrangements are explained in the AJEAT Copyright & Licensing Policy and Copyright Form.

Following completion of the journal’s Copyright Transfer Agreement and publication, copyright in the published Version of Record is assigned to CRI. AJEAT articles are then distributed under the journal’s stated CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence.

3. Benefits of Open Access Publishing

  • Immediate worldwide access to published research.
  • Greater visibility and discoverability of scholarly work.
  • Wider opportunities for readership, citation, and scholarly dissemination.

Authors whose funder or institution requires a different licence, including a CC BY 4.0 mandate, should confirm before submission whether AJEAT’s licensing terms meet those requirements.

Under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, users may copy and redistribute the unchanged published article in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given to the author(s), AJEAT, and the original publication. The licence does not permit commercial reuse or distribution of modified, adapted, translated, or derivative versions without additional permission from the copyright holder.

The published article webpage and Version of Record should carry the applicable copyright and licence information. For fuller details, see the Copyright & Licensing Policy.

For articles published in 2026, the journal states: © 2026 Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI). This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND licence. For later publications, the copyright year should match the actual year of publication.

6. Repository Policy

Authors may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript, and published Version of Record in institutional, subject, or other appropriate scholarly repositories without an embargo period. When the Version of Record is shared, it should remain unchanged and retain the full bibliographic citation, DOI or permanent link, copyright notice, licence information, and acknowledgement of AJEAT and CRI as the original journal and publisher.

7. Digital Preservation

AJEAT content is preserved through the PKP Preservation Network to support long-term digital preservation and continued access.

8. Gold Open Access and Article Processing Charge

AJEAT supports its Gold Open Access publishing services through an Article Processing Charge (APC). The live policy states an APC of INR 3,000 for authors from India and USD 50 for authors from other countries. No submission fee is charged, and the APC is payable only after acceptance following editorial assessment and peer review. Current fee details are also presented on the Article Processing Charges & Waivers page.

Payment, waiver, discount, or refund status does not influence editorial assessment, Peer Review Process, manuscript acceptance, or publication decisions.

9. Fee Waivers and Discounts

AJEAT provides a 50% APC discount for corresponding authors from Research4Life Group A countries, subject to the current Research4Life eligibility classification at the time of submission. Eligibility should be checked against the Research4Life eligibility criteria.

10. Other Charges

AJEAT states that it does not charge additional editorial processing, language editing, colour, submission, page, membership, or other supplementary author-facing fees beyond the applicable APC described in the policy.

11. Refund of Article Processing Charges

An APC refund may be granted when a publisher-attributable error prevents publication of an accepted manuscript or when multiple APC payments are mistakenly made for the same manuscript. Refunds are normally not issued when an author withdraws after payment and publication processing has started, or when an article is retracted because of plagiarism, copyright infringement, data fabrication, research misconduct, or another author-related ethics breach.

Approved refunds are normally processed within 14 days, subject to payment-provider and banking processing times.

12. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and remain independent of APC payments. Costs associated with editorial administration, publication, hosting, archiving, preservation, and dissemination do not influence reviewer selection, peer review, or acceptance decisions.
